Cialipex 20 is prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction. It is classified as a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor and functions by enhancing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, aiding in achieving and sustaining an erection.
Administer Cialipex 20 exactly as directed by your physician. For most men, the initial recommended dose is 10 mg, and it should not be taken more than once a day. Some men may require a lower dose due to existing health conditions or medications they are on. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.
Cialipex can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure to dangerous levels when taken with certain medications, such as nitrates and alpha-blockers, or recreational drugs containing nitrates, often referred to as "poppers." A quick decrease in blood pressure may lead to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. Exercise caution when driving or using heavy machinery until you know how Cialipex affects you. Additionally, Cialipex contains lactose and should not be used by those who are lactose intolerant. It is also advisable to avoid grapefruit juice during treatment, as it can heighten the likelihood of experiencing negative side effects. If you are on any medications that include nitrates or nitric oxide, have unstable blood pressure (high or low), or have a history of stroke or heart attack, you should not take Cialipex.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed one.
As mentioned previously, Cialipex 20 is a strong medication that can influence biochemical processes in the body, which may lead to certain side effects. None of these should be overlooked. Ideally, patients should not experience side effects at all. If any symptoms do appear, Cialipex 20 should be discontinued, and immediate medical advice should be sought. If a patient experiences sudden chest tingling, pain, giddiness, or numbness during sexual activity, it is a cause for concern and requires prompt consultation with a healthcare provider.
Additional significant side effects may include swelling of the limbs, numbness, chest heaviness coupled with pain in the shoulder and arm area, feelings of unease and nausea, vision-related issues, changes in hearing abilities, or tinnitus (perception of noise in the ears).
